question
I need suggestions, mommies on how to teach a four year old the discipline of standing in a queue for his turn. (That many adults have not learnt it yet is another story :))

Every time the school bus arrives in the morning, my fellow literally throws up a ruckus to get in first. I have tried everything from holding him back, explaining, even bribing and to talking to him after school. Back home he listens patiently and agrees to everything I say but come morning and the bus he is ready in action. While some parents at the stop are tolerant, others clearly show their displeasure. I am torn between keeping him calm and justifying to others about his behaviour that is very recent. I am hoping its a phase. Do tell me how you handled such behaviour in your kid. @asha chaudhry , @Priya Sood

There are times they don't listen to us.  Approach the class teacher and ask her to explain it to the class about the importance of standing in q and having some patience.

@asha It worked!! He believed the note and behaved. I hate to do it but like you say sometimes mommies have to be a step ahead. @Pranita and @Lavina thank you for the suggestions. We did Pepper books before and now I got them out again. But there are times even after books kids make a complete U turn that zaps the parents totally. :)

@Priya, I agree with the bribe thing. Extreme measure :(

@asha, the note might just do the trick! This one is brilliant. I have shown him a printed sheet and read out 'rules' to stand in queue. He seems to understand. Will let you know tomorrow. This might just be it! Thank you so much!! :) I strangely cannot tag anyone here now. Hope you read this.
