I started doing my research about play schools and way they teach when my kid was 2 years old and I fell in love with the Montessori method. Then I started reading more about it to understand their methodology and way they teach and the more I read more I wanted my kid to get into school which completely based on Montessori method.

Now it's gonna be three years my son is in same school and I have not planned to look outside. They way he has grown and learnt things, they way he is understanding his environment is amazing. He is becoming independent and responsible at same time.

Each one of us have different preference for our kids so I also know of parents who want to follow traditional method for their kids so that's perfectly fine. Do your thorough research before choosing a school as they are stepping stones for your child future and life.

Here I am sharing some details about it and their methodology....

The;Montessori Method of education, developed by Dr.;Maria Montessori, is a child-centered educational approach based on scientific observations of children from birth to adulthood. Dr. Montessori's Method has been used for over 100 years in many parts of the world.

It is a view of the child as one who is naturally eager for knowledge and capable of initiating learning in a supportive, thoughtfully prepared learning environment. It is an approach that values the human spirit and the development of the whole child—physical, social, emotional, cognitive.

Although a range of practices exist under the name "Montessori",;these elements as essential:

Mixed age classrooms; classrooms for children ages; 2;1⁄2;or 3 to 6;years old are by far the most common, but 0–3, 6–9, 9–12, 12–15, and 15–18 year-old classrooms exist as well.

Student choice of activity from within a prescribed range of options.

Uninterrupted blocks of work time, ideally three hours.

A;constructivist;or "discovery" model, where students learn concepts from working with materials, rather than by direct instruction.

Specialized educational materials developed by Montessori and her collaborators often made out of natural, aesthetic materials such as wood, rather than plastic.

A thoughtfully prepared environment where materials are organized by subject area, within reach of the child, and are appropriate in size.

Freedom of movement within the classroom.

A trained Montessori teacher who follows the child and is highly experienced in observing the individual child's characteristics, tendencies, innate talents and abilities.

What is Montessori Education?

Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the teacher offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process. Children work in groups and individually to discover and explore knowledge of the world and to develop their maximum potential.

Montessori classrooms are beautifully crafted environments designed to meet the needs of children in a specific age range.;Dr. Maria Montessori;discovered that experiential learning in this type of classroom led to a deeper understanding of language, mathematics, science, music, social interactions and much more. Most Montessori classrooms are secular in nature, although the Montessori educational method can be integrated successfully into a faith-based program.

Every material in a Montessori classroom supports an aspect of child development, creating a match between the child’s natural interests and the available activities. Children can learn through their own experience and at their own pace. They can respond at any moment to the natural curiosities that exist in all humans and build a solid foundation for life-long learning.
