question
I visited a gynecologist three months back and she after some tests detected that I have a low AMH as compared to my age. I am 28 and my AMH is 1.3, she put me on some medications and now I am going to follow up with another Gynecologist as I am going to start trying conceiving. But I am a very scared as my last gynac had told that I may not b able to conceive naturally and may have to consider IVF. Anyone has had similar situations?

Dr. Shilpitha

Hello..<br> Anti-Mullerian Hormone, or 'AMH' as it is often called, is a hormone which is given off by developing follicles, which are egg sacs containing immature eggs. By measuring this with a blood test, it gives an idea of the state of ovarian reserve and how many eggs are left in the ovaries. Low AMH&#160;level suggests that women's ovarian reserve is rapidly declining and they must immediately seek fertility treatment.. your doctor was right, less chances of natural one, IVF is a good option..
