I was born and brought up in huge joint family and we were 11 cousins living in a big house...

Mornings used to be curd and roti for breakfast before school..

Curd was set at home from the milk of cows from our farm...

Mama, Dadi, Taiji used to cook meals which was common and eaten by everyone without fuss and the vegetables used were grown in our farm...

After I got married to a huge joint family I saw that curd roti was eaten for breakfast, dal chawal for lunch, murmura for evening snacks and again roti for dinner followed by a glass full of milk..

I was surprised that how can food be so simple...

My fil used to eat raw onions but never cooked onions 🤔🤔

Now things have totally changed and this was our breakfast for the morning..

Just 4 of us and I cooked and baked so much..

My one son wanted chocolate whole-wheat cupcakes for his snacks box alongwith onion paniyaram..

While my other son wanted Tomato uttapam alongwith some roasted makhana...

While husband man was ready to eat whatever served when asked while he dressed up in all blue to support team India for today's semi final...

I was wondering if my mom , dadi, Taiji had to cook each and every ones favourite dish daily for say snacks box how much time would they have spent in kitchen...

.

.

What do you do in this situation when kids demand that they don't want to eat what is cooked?? Especially for mom's who stay in joint setup..

I would make 33 chapathi and bhaji for everyone at once then I keep aside cooked vegetables for aayush before adding spiced gravy , I smash that cooked vegetables and mix with dough and make chapathi from them not everyday twice a week
