I was introduced to books and reading very late in life. All the reading I did in my preteen and young adult life was school books and a bunch of Tinkles (remember?). It was only in my last year of schooling that I was gifted the third Harry Potter book and I read it end to end in one night. I was drawn. I haven't stopped reading after that. I want that .
.
That is why I want to raise a reader for I want her to experience the world of imagination I lost while I was growing up. So to that end, I bought the first set of books for #BabyHashtag and she is quite enjoying them so far. She chews on them more but also loves the visuals and colours. Let's see how that goes. If you have book recommendations for a 6 months and older baby, do let me know. 😊

Hi Disha! Like I just mentioned elsewhere, its very important that you pick books that do not confuse such a young child with too many images. The illustration should be bright. Just enough text for you to read out and hold her attention. Touch and feel books are much loved by children that age. Amazon has a lovely stock. Its never too late to be a book lover. Make sure your child sees you reading one if you expect her to love books. More than anything, a child of six months loves to be held in the warmth of mumma and being read to. :)

hi Disha. Touch and feel books are great for her right now. i can recommend the Thats not my series which introduces various textures to baby to feel. You can also play peekaboo with this book as there's a tiny mouse on each page which hides in various spaces. #babyT loved searching for the mouse. another book which do good is Dear Zoo which is a lift the flap book and helps motor development. you can also try cloth or fabric books. do let me know if you'd like some more reccos.

Hi Disha, I really believe books will be one of the most important things to keep the future generations sane amidst zillions of gadgets inventions...I am a book worm and enjoy reading to the core. My little one is 18 months old and she loves her books too. I bought couple of books online for her when she was 6 months or so. I bought the ones which made funny sounds when you press any pics on a page. She loved those as the sound caught her attention and then ahe would stare at the image.
