I'm 34 weeks pregnant. I did my growth scan at 31 weeks. All my reports were normal. But I was slightly low on he viz., 10.7 for which I am taking iron tab twice. I've improved from my previous blood report when I was 9.1 My baby weight in growth scan taken at 31 weeks was 1629 grams. Doc said its normal. But my weight hasn't increased from the beginning of this month. I was fluctuating from 56.1, 56.2, 56.3 kgs for about 3 weeks. And today my weight is 55.7kgs. I've gained 7kgs weight from start of pregnancy (49kgs to 56kgs).. but I'm much concerned about the weight loss that's happening now. Doc told me to concentrate on my diet last time as I increased only 200grams for 2 weeks (from 31 weeks to 33 weeks). As this is the time where baby grows rapidly, I was expecting an increase in my weight by atleast; 2kgs. This declining weight is concerning me alot. Is this ok? Or is there any problem? Will this affect my baby?; #askgyno

@5f71f284c0de030045737d73 , Touchwood. I've not got any swelling as such till now. And I've been gaining weight gradually. Hope it's normal. Will check with my doctor in my next visit.
Protein powder - it's called "sathu maavu powder" (try to get recipe from google as it has long list of pulses and dry nuts).. made with roasted pulses/ deal and dry nuts. Or try searching it as multigrain malt. It's available in packed form too- Manna health mix powder (it has got the same content and is safe to use as well). This powder is rich in protein.
U can add 1-2 tsps of this powder to a glass of milk and keep mixing it under low flame. It gets thicker in heat. You can try different recipes with this powder like puttu, kozhukattai. I guess you may not know these recipes. All these are south Indian food. But do try out Manna health mix powder (it's available online).

Hi @5f71f284c0de030045737d73 , I'm having protein in the form of sundal (boiled dhals) every evening. And also protein powder made at home. Yes, 8-12 kg is normal, but my; weight "loss" is a concern for me right now.
For iron, I'm taking Ferium XT (tab) twice a day. Morning and at night. Eat a citrus fruit along with iron supplement as it helps in iron absorption like Amla/ orange/ sweet lime/ lemon.
Also, I eat drumstick leaves which are rich in iron, atleast 3 days in a week. It has high iron content than dates. I eat green leafy food everyday viz, spinach. Other than this, pomegranate, red banaana boosts hb levels. Fig, dates are good too. Try these. Hope this helps!
