I'm constantly reminded by my maid,my mom, my mil that my getting up position from bed is not correct. I also toss and turn sides while sleeping but I slowed down a bit and change sides but my mom says I need to get up then change side.. Ufff this is so complicated is this all true? Please help. I also had a habit of sleeping with my stomach down but I changed it after getting pregnant.

whether u r preg or not... u should not get up straight from.the bed it cause extreme back ache. i hv learnt in yoga. its useful tip. just turn to side and then get up with the support of elbow or palm.

As you are in your 1st trimester which is considered risky that'swhy it is advisable to turn slowly. So there is no rule that you need to get up and then change sides. You can do it while lying but do it very slowly without any jerk. Also avoid sleeping straight or with your stomach down. Left or right position is advisable.

Please avoid sleeping with stomach down as it will put pressure on your belly. Also, avoid doing any task quickly. Whatever you are doing, do it slowly. You should sleep on your back and while sleeping you can take left/right turn as many times as you want. If you feel any pain/discomfort while turning or getting up then you can change your way of doing it otherwise it is completely fine. You have to judge your methods as per your convenience. In later stages when belly shows up, you can use pillows to support your posture while sleeping. I am in the same boat as you are so I am getting you. Do not stress yourself on what other people say. You know your body more than anyone. So stay calm and enjoy the phase. All the best!
