#imbecca #feminism #mytakeonthemovieThappad Thappad Just a Slap par maar nahi sakta. I was eagerly waiting to watch the movie but couldn't and then followed the lockdown, Atlast it was available in Amazon prime and we watched it last week. I'm a feminist and I'm proud of it, I cringed the moment Amu was slapped, my eyes filled with tears though I know it's just a movie. I have been reading lot of justification about this Slap.. 1. He was frustrated and upset.
2. Who will divorce for one slap?
3. What about their love ?
4. Is divorce only solution? Why did not Vikram slap the friend (boss)? Why he did not slap his brother? Why only his wife? No one deserves this humiliation and no women should go through this. A slap is a domestic violence even if it is for the first time. Not sure if Divorce is the solution but no women should go through this humiliation. Ladies , don't put yourself down. Don't go through physical or mental torture, by going through this you are teaching your son " it's ok to beat a woman " and "its okay if the husband hits me " to your daughter. Thappad is thappad even if it's for the first time, you deserve the best in life, Don't settle for anything less.
