While we adults have teeth and tongue to clean as a routine; a newborn has only gums and tongue to clean; but a teething toddler has one or two teeth, tongue and gums to take care of. Each needs to be cleaned and taken care of properly. It takes time to follow this routine twice everyday. But it is worth the practice because it will ensure a good dentition and good oral hygiene. #babycare 1) Start the day with a good Oral Hygiene-
As soon as Govind wakes up and is done with his morning dose of cuddles and good morning kisses; I wash his face with warm water and proceed for the oral care routine. 2) Sterilization
I try to do this step before Govind wakes up . I sterilise the ultra care oral hygiene tools by immersing them in a glass of boiled hot water. 3) Handwashing-
I wash my hands with dettol handwash and water properly before touching the sterilised tools. 4) Gum care-
I take grain sized amount of Chicco gum gel 4+ on both sides of the double sided soft bristle brush and then introduce it to the left corner of his mouth.
He clutches it with the ends of his gums and I gently move the brush back and forth to massage both the upper and lower gums.
Then I do the same on the right side of gums too.
This is easier than the finger stall brush as with it the finger as to be turned for upper and lower gums. With this the growing gums get cleaned effectively on inner and outer sides. 5) Tooth care -
I then take a grain sized amount of Chicco dentifrico toothpaste 6+ on the tiny brush and gently brush the two little teeths sprouting from the upper gums.
I remove the residual paste foam with my index finger. The whole process takes about 10 to 15 minutes. 6) Tongue cleaning
I introduce the tongue cleaner with the soft blade facing the tongue into the mouth and gently but firmly swipe out the deposits from the tongue.
I wash it in warm water and reintroduce it into the mouth for a second swipe.
I repeat this process 2 to 3 times to ensure a deposit free tongue.
7) Then I offer him water and few minutes later we proceed for his breakfast. 8) At the end I wash all the tools with luvlap baby detergent liquid and rinse them with warm water. 9) I allow the tools to dry for some time and then store it in a plastic box. I hope my experience helps you. #AAM #mymommyhoodexperiences #GrowingupwithGovind #hit -and-trials
