In the last session, we discussed about the meditation. Today I'm going to share you about relaxation or you can say getting slow down.
This is the best gift you can give to your baby. Just focus on making space and creating yourself emotionally healthy. Be ready in external details of pregnancy planning as well as an inner preparation. Strictly avoid over scheduling and block off some time for yourself. Most women find the last part of the pregnancy to be the most exhausting and uncomfortable and your lack of energy needs to be honored. Take some nap, change your exercise routines and find time to relax and connect with your baby and yourself. This quite time will allow you to pay attention, hydrate and rest which will decrease risks of preterm contractions, improve swelling, help you enter childbirth energized and provide your baby with cues of safety and calmness as it prepares to enter this beautiful world.
During my pregnancy, I used to do Pranayam and little bit of stretching on daily basis. Pranayam made the outcome successful as I was used to hold the breathing which hugely helps during contractions and labor pain. Stretching made me flexible and ready for contractions. For relaxation, I was used to take head and foot massages which help me to sleep well. (Before taking massages, let your massager know that you are pregnant so they don't give too much pressure as it might be risky.)
This small changes in your daily routine make huge difference and provide you great results. So start as early as possible.
