We have a lovely choora ceremony in punjabi weddings where on the day of marriage..few hours before marriage during daytime the girl wears very normal clothes and the girls mama and maami or someone from maternal side make the girl wear a red choora and give her blessings and gifts for her future happy married life ...also there is a small Pooja and everyone kisses the choora and blesses the girl..also a kaleera is tied to the choora.. special food is prepared including halwa..poori.. mathris etc.layer the choora is covered with hankies so that the girl doesnt see it again and again and its taken of at night before wedding...later the girl takes bath and gets ready for the wedding..lots of crying happens..
