Inside Out: An emotional roller coaster ride, that’s for sure! The movie somehow succeeds in striking an indefinable engaging spot that charms the children and adults alike.

Being a 11-year old proves to be a rough road for Riley, who has to move when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, she is controlled by her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness – of which Joy is the lead. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley's mind. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life, mayhem develops in Headquarters. Despite the conflicts with Sadness, Joy tries to keep things positive on how best to steer in a new city, house and school.

While Riley is the main lead, it is also amusing to watch how all 5 emotions inside the father’s head is Anger while the mother’s headquarter replays a scene about a ladies’ man who seems like the perfect guy.

It is toward the end that we realize what mixed emotions are and Pixar sets a good example of ‘tears of joy’ to prove just that.
