question
Is cervical length of 3.6 cm normal at 20 weeks gestation? I have read that this will decrease as the pregnancy progresses and less then 2.5 is a problem . Is it true? kindly advise @Dr Shilpitha Singh @Dr Nikhil Datar @Dr Charmi Thakker Deshmukh

Low lying placenta, placenta previa, threatened preterm labour, short or funneling cervix, previous pre term delivery multiple pregnancy are all a NO for squatting and should be avoided at all times, which it is why it’s so important that you need to check with your doctor  for what exercises are safe and suitable for you and your current pregnancy. Even if your previous pregnancy was safe to squat through it doesn’t mean this pregnancy is the same..

hello...<br> cervical length at approximately 20 to 24 weeks into a pregnancy is the strongest indicator of a pregnant woman&#8217;s risk of preterm birth. The length of the cervix is most accurately measured by transvaginal ultrasound, which your doctor may not consider doing unless you specifically request it.. at 24 weeks gestation, the average cervical length is 3.5 cm. When cervical length is less than 2.2 cm, women face a 20 percent probability of preterm delivery... If the length is below 4 cm, ask the sonographer to do a transvaginal ultrasound to get a more accurate measurement. It is standard to take the measurement three times over the course of several minutes.. if you are having 3.6cms at present, then talk to your doctor about this... he may assure you better...
