question
is there any mother whose inlwas deliberately teaches baby to call muma to dadi and papa to father???? my inlwas does that...I feel hurt to the deepest level i can't describe...despite of my objection they continue doing so...now my baby is 18 months old..she have started addressing her dadi as MA...nobody corrects her whenever she does that...what the hell should I do ??? they had already been pain in my life.. now teaching my baby these things...instead of taking care of her with responsibility they dont do any bloody effort...what should I do? break my ties with them forever or kill myself???? I am already going through depression..and they are making worse for me..has anyone gone through this?

Hey please don't worry... Whatever name the baby calls anyone... You are the mother ( Maa) and the most important person... Just know it for yourself.. ignore every other thing in life...
Actually a few my friends kids too say Maa to granny ( but it's by chance because they hear the parents saying and pick up )
So don't worry at all... Love yourself and take care of yourself... All will be well soon as the baby grows up...

I can understand your situation as even one of my friend was going through the same situation. Her inlaws used to teach wrong things to her child. But she has no option because she is a working mom and has to leave her child with them. Try to ignore these things.

I'm not ok with this crap...coz the day I got married my inlwas were a cause of stress, while I was pregnant they were even uglier..after giving birth we shifted to another house..never a day comes when I see my doing grandparent duties or inlwas duties...so who gave them right to be called as ma and papa ?

That's fine anon..There's no harm in calling dadi as mom and dada aa papa. You know my husband and we call his masi maa. Ir shouldn't be a matter of depression. Relax. Don't stress yourself. Doesn't matter what the baby calls them. All that matters is the love and healthy environment you provide to the baby.
