It is not easy, parenting. While there may be a lot of books that will get you ready to be a parent, the real deal is nothing like what you would have imagined. And it is all you. As a mother, you are the first parent, first friend, first teacher and the first guide of your child. So be watchful, be careful. If you seek support from anyone else, make sure they hear you loud and clear. Subtle cries of help are usually overlooked.
Most importantly, believe in yourself. Voice your anguish, concerns and doubts in someone who is trusted and who you know is a confidante. Other than that, give in to your maternal instinct. You are a great mom already, for your kid you are the best.
