We all know it’s much easier to make a mess than it is to clean it up. A successful clean up begins with a successful setup.
Sharing few tips with which we can help our kids to clean up and also make it their habit for a lifetime.
*help them out:- pitch in so it doesn't feel difficult to them, a little extra help to get them going so they can finish the task. *give them directions:- be with them and let them know where everything goes.let them put their toys back once they are done playing. *less is more:- don't give them all the toys to play. Keep rotating system in which you only take out a few toys, this way they are always interested in new toys and less toys means less clutter. *labeling boxes/shelves:- keep picture tags for every box/ shelf and let them know books goes where there is a picture of a book and car where we have a picture for car. *assign age appropriate chores:- assign them tasks which you feel they can complete. Dont expect too much. *signals for clean up:- once my daughter finishes her play we have clean up rhyme for her to know its clean up time. *set a good example:- we can’t expect our; kids to keep their rooms clean if we can’t keep ours clean. * make it a routine:- we have kept the habit of putting all the toys to sleep before our night time routine starts.
Finally don't expect perfection, make sure you have lots of praises for them, tell them what a great job they did to keep them motivated.
