question
It's the Mango season and if you are pregnant then you are probably being told that you should not be eating mango as it is a hot fruit and can cause harm to the pregnancy.

Here are some simple facts which will help you to enjoy The King of Fruits this season even during pregnancy.

Mango season always comes in the summers. Nature has designed it such that we should eat seasonal fruits as they are best suited to the season. Hence in the summers if mango is in season it stands to reason that mango is actually a cooling fruit.

Mango is a very sweet fruit and hence if clubbed with a meal like lunch or dinner can increase the calorie intake of that meal hence resulting in weight gain. To get the best value out of the mango eat it as a snack.

Do not mix mango with additional refined sugar like in mango shake or aam rass. This increases the calorie value but does not add to the nutrition value.

Finally for your benefit here are the valuable nutrients that are in a mango - Fibre, Vitamin A, Vitamin C,; Vitamin B6, Potassium, Magnesium and finally Iron in a small quantity.
