question
It's very disturbing when our brother or father say to their daughter or sister to wear traditional or cultural dresses only and not to wear Jeans-tops, skirts or anything except Indian traditional wear. I wonder why don't they dress themselves first in Indian traditional wear which is Dhoti and not pants before pointing fingers on females? How could one expect others to follow which themselves don't do??? After all when it's gonna over???

What do you think how we should dress being a women?

Shall we not wear which shows our sking more than our arms, face and feet?

What would you say to those people who teach you that how you should dress?

Does it affects others behaviour towards us?

Pls comment whatever u think about it.

Thanks!

It's your wish anon. you have to choose what you want to wear.; Just think of the occasion or place where you are going for.; dress according to that.; It's the duty of Indian parents to tell the children what to wear. We can't change them. They are old generation. if you like their suggestion take it or if you don't like ignore it. Let us act such that, our kids should not feel the same way. Another point I wanted to say was,; if a girl is molested/raped, people used to point fingers on their parents.; her parents dint teach her how to dress. So I think it's also the fear of society.

our 'sanskriti' doesn't get defined by our clothes...
yes it's the way u can represent one but there is a huge difference between representating and defining...
clothes u wear should be representing ur personality n not the sanskriti

Before wedding I use to wear shorts and skirts and after wedding I choose to wear jeans and kurti but it's my personal choose I was never asked to wear full body covering clothes neither before wedding not after wedding so at my place girl or boy dress as per family wish and not as per other advice . and when unwanted advise I get I go deaf ears so doesn't matter what other feel or think
