Before becoming a mother, we see a lot of perfect parenting pictures, imagine lots of scenarios, plan it all and totally prepared to start our picture perfect life. Well, let me burst that bubble for you and give you a reality check -
Sleeping with a baby
Expectation- Either the baby is sleeping peaceful in its cot or sleeping next to us, all cozy in its deep sleep.
Reality- The little one keeps waking you up either for milk and if not that then with kicks and head shots on either your stomach, head, mouth or any part of your body. Trust me it hurts !!
Dining out with a baby
Expectation- Your little one is sitting at its place, concentrating on their own meal and letthing you have you dinner in peace.
Reality- They hates sitting in their chair , wants to eat what you are eating, you are not allowed to turn your face towards anybody else and breaking/throwing crockeries is like their birth right.
Attending a party with the baby
Expectation- The baby is just busy playing with other kids, watching around and enjoying its time.
Reality- They just want to hang on to you, wants your complete attention and would leave no stone unturned in embarassing you by being all kinds of noisy and destructive little kid.
Taking a flight with the baby
Expectation- As soon as we board the flight the little one eats or drinks something and dozed off quickly.
Reality- Naughty little brats would end up throwing biggest of tantrums, start crying on top of their voice and here they dont want to stay close to you, rather run around in the whole flight.
Clicking pictures with your baby
Expectations- You both are all smiles, getting perfect candid and prettiest of shots together making it look all beautiful.
Reality- You are trying hard to get your kid to either look at you or at the camera but they would just look everywhere else. The poses ends up coming like some comic series instant of dreamy ones.
This is all just for fun, some of it might be true and some of it might never be true(lucky you then). Honestly Mommying is one big wall between your expectations and reality and is full of surprises, twists and turns. It the most beautiful, most embarassing, most funny, most tiring but the bestest phase of your life. We can make endless jokes about it, compare our lives over mere assumptions from pictures posted by others and crib about it but nothing makes us happier than watching a big smile on our little one's face.
Cheers to all the Mommies out there, you are stronger than you think and you can do this !!
