I'm so glad that Raksha Bandhan isn't Just A Brother-Sister Festival Anymore ( at least not for our family 😁). .
Our girls had a wonderful time today celebrating their bond of love. .

They picked up cool bands for each other and a big gift that they both needed(instead of picking up two gifts, we chose to pick up one thing which they both could share this year).

.

We believe in teaching our kids the essence of every festival.

.

I always felt that Raksha Bandhan needed to evolve into a sensible modern context. And I'm happy to see the change today.. A sister is as special as a brother. It's all about family bonding I believe.
I have observed new domains being set today. Raksha Bandhan isn't just restricted to a brother sister festival anymore.

.

It has been surpassed by two sisters or two brothers tying the sacred threads to each other (considering the fact that they are equally capable to protect each other in any situation).

.

.

My girls did tie a wrist band to their cousin brother in Delhi and sent two for their cousin brother and 1 sister who are in Mumbai.
So basically they tie it to all their cousins irrespective of their gender.
I was so glad that our idea of celebrating this festival with a twist was accepted warmly by our family..

.

Raksha Bandhan is all about celebrating the bond. Isn't it? .

.

Let's Break the stereotypes together 😁
