Long pending this post has been. But then I thought let me share 'a few' at least!

I chose to marry a Malayalee. And now I have a baby. You will be thinking - 'so, big deal?'. Yes, for a lot of people around me. .

Initially I thought people ask this out of curiosity (or amusement 😋). Realised people do so because they don't know what they are really saying and I have now even stopped counting on who all asked me this. This very simple question - "in which language are you going to communicate with your baby?" And everytime, I'm like, really? Shouldn't the baby be just encouraged to learn all the languages she's exposed to? That also includes Tamil, which is the native language here in this part of the country where we live.

.

Would you believe me if I tell you that a couple of people even asked me to make her see/hear Malayalam TV channels, movies and what not. Haha. Yeah, you can laugh too!

.

When I got married, a lot of people also asked me and AB - in which language do you guys converse. Haha. Well, we have had and still have a lot to learn in terms of each other's mother-tongue but these kind of questions are really funny! Isn't it?

.

Being a vegan myself and AB a hardcore non-vegetarian, a lot of people also have this curiosity to know what choice is baby going to make and that will I introduce her to non-veg because I'm not! Shouldn't I just leave this on her to decide? And raise her to both accept and appreciate everyone's choice like her parents do for each other?

.

Why are you doing this and not that? We do it this way here ( in our side, etc etc). Isn't it better for me to do what I know better. ( Yes, I know I used that word twice😋). For everything that is done in a way in a certain place, there's a reason/ logic to it. We just need to understand that. .

Doing a long detailed post on this later but would like to know about your experiences like this!
