Hello all..; I had normal delivery last week on, 30nov being induced on 29night.. Exact 24hrs of labour pain..; Took epidural also.. But after fully dilation, baby's head got stucked with his hand so Dr used vacuum.. (coz pushing time was also so much long)..
But after delivery I was not able to urinate naturally.. I was having urge to urinate but failed to pass it on.. Thus they inserted catheter to remove urine from bladder.. After that it continued in & out n after dat I was on catheter for 3days..
After dat wen they removed catheter; I went to pass urine on my own but I hardly succeed in removing 25_50_80and sumtime 200ml of urine naturally but the urge was not going only.. Thus they again inserted; catheter and did in and out and the urine retention; was too much in bladder..
Dey did one whole day in and out of catheter after I was going to urinate just to check how much retention; is der inside..
Finally on 8day of delivery I took discharge; but with catheter; n urine bag in hand.. Now Dr telling; to visit after 8days to check the recovery..
Pls suggest; why all dis with me.. Wat is the real cause behind dis.. N was the solution now.. Feeling scared n shaken up from this event.. Pls guide Dr

Heena,,, your doctor is right!!! You just try to pee naturally, use some techniques like sitz bath or warm or cold water splash- by these you will feel to pass urine.. increase oral fluids to have forcible flow.. these are only possible if catheter is removed..

Hi,,, i completely understand your situation.. firstly dont be scared about this problem.. the actual thing is - Pressure from your baby's exit may have traumatized bladder leading to temporary paralysis or anesthesia (if you had any) may have decreased its sensitivity. Swelling and perineal pain can also be the reason.. If you're still having trouble urinating a few days after delivery, you might have a urinary tract infection..
