So awhile ago, while I was taking out the washed laundry from the washing machine, I was surprised to find - a toffee!! A not so innocent-looking toffee peeping out of the WASHED CLOTHES! I looked at it suspiciously, examined if any of its contents had poured out. It looked okay so I just shook my head and thought how careless of #thetenyearold to forget a toffee in her uniform skirt pocket! (we have ant menace in goa so we don't leave any food items out).
And then comes another surprise - ANOTHER TOFFEE WRAPPER ONLY. Omg - only the wrapper, not the toffee! Means the toffee got mixed and washed with my clothes (whites today!).
Holy smokes - that was enough for my OCD to go into overdrive - like a mad woman I examined all the clothes individually - had to rinse out a few of them that had traces of brown sticky toffee and put them for wash AGAIN.
Finally I came face to face with the culprit - the now half melted toffee. I chucked it - hung out the clean clothes and dumped the not so clean clothes back into the washing machine.
Just another day in the life of a mom.
Lesson - no matter how old or careful your childoo is (or hubby is - he forgets coins in his pockets!) CHECK THE POCKETS before doing the laundry!
