Many of them ask me, how do you want your children to be... An obedient child or an independent thinker.
It was those days our ancestors followed few rules without logics. They were never allowed to question but simply oblige. But I let my kids to think and follow righteously. Because this generation kids needs to be an independent thinker.
Children are not robots. They are trying to understand and make sense of our world in whatever way they can. Too much or too little obedience is where the problem really arises. Hence, they need guidance and child who follows instructions without understanding its repercussions, won’t take any responsibility for it in future.
We must realize by now that disobedience is not a serious issue unique to your child, it’s what every child goes through at some point or the other while growing up. We’ve been there, and done that too.

So true yaar. Even in our generation its not accepted and we are called rebel. My mom use to say proudly " I have never questioned my mom" but I always do. I will bring up my daughter that way.
