Ingredients
2/3 cup Rice.
1/3 cup Masoor Dal.
1 onion.
1 tomato.
1/2 teaspoon jeera seeds or 1/2 teaspoon jeera powder.
A pinch of turmeric powder.
Garlic – 2 (optional)
Ghee
Method :
Wash and soak rice and dal in water for half an hour. Drain the water.
Cut the onions and tomatoes. In a pressure cooker, add ghee.
Add the jeera and let them crackle. Add the cut onions and fry them till they become transparent.
Add the tomatoes and turmeric and fry. Add the washed Rice and Dal, fry for a second. Add water.
After the steam leaves, mash it a little and serve.
Disclaimer: If feeding to baby under 12 months, do not add sugar or honey. You may use date puree for sweetening.
For babies, above 12 months, we recommend do not add white sugar, you may use honey, jaggery or date puree for sweetening.
