This picture was taken last night, not because we were cooking anything exotic, but simply because my childoo and I love rustling up something on a rainy Sunday evening for dinner, together. It's our little hangout thing, we do and love :)
My hubby and I are enormous foodies - we have articles on what to eat in which city of the world and where. And since the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, #thenineyearold too, loves food :)
I don't cook anything elaborate anymore. I prefer to read, write, watch a movie, catch up with something to do in the house, or spend quality time with my childoo instead. Before she was born, when we used to live overseas, we would entertain very often and I cooked a lot - a lot of gratitude goes to Sanjeev Kapoor's recipe books :).
Every morning, though I religiously make something garam for my childoo's tiffin. No shortcuts there!
So there is no fancy recipe - last night we did a pot of pasta. We had a packet of white sauce powder - we stirred in some milk and voila! We got some white sauce - that was for childoo's pasta. She helped my slice the veggies and the adults had a sauted veggie pasta (i crush a lot of garlic).
So the fun is in the prep work where we catch up on what's going on at school, or at singing class. This week is childoo's b'day week so that was what the whole discussion was about. I'll share more about that later on. What's cooking in your kitchen right now?
Do you have a little kitchen ritual with your childoo? Do share!
ps: We forgot to take pix of the pastas - but my hubby did click a pic for us from the balcony :)
