The festival of Ganesh chaturthi is here and I assume each and every one of us brought Lord Ganpati home. Babychakra being a kids related site today let me tell you how kids can learn a lot of things from the festival of Ganesh chaturthi.
Lord Ganesh a us considered the Lord if education, prosperity, intelligence, and wisdom. He is the perfect one to become a kids Guru. So, let us see what Lord Ganesh has to teach to our kids.
First if all let me tell you the meaning of each and every part of Lord Ganesh.
A large head tells us to think big, large ears ask us to become good listeners, small eyes teach us to concentrate on our target, the big stomach is the symbol of not letting out anyone's secrets.
Now let us see what life lessons kids can learn from his stories.
Parents are everything for a kid
When there was a competition in between Lord kartikeya and Lord Ganesh about doing parikrama of the earth. Lord Ganesh new that his mouse will not be able to match the speed of peacock, Lord kartikeya vehicle and also knew that the entire world lies in the feet of parents. So decided to do the pradakshina of parents.
This story teaches the kid to respect their parents and think differently.
Never give up and keep trying
Vyas muni had approached Lord Ganesh to write the grantha Mahabharata. Lord Ganesh agreed to write saying that he will write non stop. When vyas muni was narrating the granth, the Lord was writing with great speed. As a result, the pen broke, Ganeshji broke one of his tusks and kept in writing. He also gained the name Ekdanta because of this.
Here the kids learn the lesson of not giving up and keeping their commitment.
Importance of knowledge
Lord Ganesh stands for knowledge. He himself was a keen learner about everything and as a result the Lord tells us parents to encourage our kids to gain more knowledge and never demotivate them.
So, these are a few things kids can learn from the festival of Ganesh chaturthi.
