After finishing our dinner that night my husband decided that he is going to take our son along with him and his friends family to the national park near by and as I had exam the other day, he suggested that
I should; stay back and he , along with others will take care of him on the trip.
Even though I don't trust my dear husband completely when it comes to looking after our child, I still nodded because I had no option.
Next morning my son was so excited to go to the park.; There wasn't any disappointment from his side for me for not coming along and i, on the other hand was also happy a bit for getting a day off from collecting his scattered toys.
So now.... everyone is gone. I am alone in the house. First things first, I cleaned all the rooms as the toys we're scattered in every nook and corner and started with my studies. For 2 hours I could study in peace as my body and my mind has the habbit of it everyday. My son sleeps for 2-3 hours and I study. But after that I couldn't concentrate and got up to make a tea.
Before going to the kitchen, I snicked into the living area and I felt like all the toys are scattered. But I just cleaned it, right?. I blinked and saw again ..there wasn't a single toy on the floor. I might be imagining as my eyes are not habitual to see no toys on the floor.
Despite of having a tea, I was feeling dizzy so I decided to take a nap.
I get up and come to the room again the hallucinating thing happens. I shake my head and see that there is nothing. What the hell? Why am I imagining the scattered toys?
Meanwhile I had missed calls from my husband. I enquired about him and he seemed to be having fun. God knows why but somewhere I felt bad. Is he not missing me? This is the first time he has gone somewhere without me. How can he spend a day without not even remembering or crying for me.
Do I scold him too much? Last week I shouted on top of my voice for spreading toys all over the house. Is he still angry? I wasn't wishing that he should ruining their day out while crying for me but I wasn't expecting this.
Here I am, already missing the scattered toys and eventually him.
My mind was wandering and I couldn't concentrate. Thoughts were making me crazy. I couldn't figure out what was going inside.
May be he is well adjusted without freaking out. May be he has become confident and independent that he can survive without my existence. Or am I being insecure?
I started doing things what I was meaning to do but I was still restless.
It's not like he has always just gone off and I am doing my things happily. I can't even leave the room when he is playing there. May be the readiness has come up with the age. May be he is able to handle the separation.
It was satisfactory to think that he is growing up now but on the other hand this thought was a little disappointing somewhere.
Why Children grow up so fast? I realized I won't be able to see the scattered toys and scrapped knees for long. I know it has to happen one day, but I think it's happening too fast. If not for collecting his toys or doing other things for that matter, for him, how was I supposed to spend my day? It hit me so hard like a blow on a chest. On a regular day, I creep over so many things, everything seems to be more important than sitting on the floor and playing with him. I can see the scattered toys but wasn't able to see how much time I have been given while he plays with them. But how long these toys will be there on the floor? Not for long I guess.
He is growing up too fast. Today, he is managing without me, tomorrow he will be so grown up, he won't need his toys and there won't be anything for me to gather and; over.
Moral of the story, If you have kids then your house is going to get messy, just accept the fact and life will get a whole lot easier.my house has never looked so clean and tidy, and nice as it is to have a very clean house I am missing the mess all ready!!!
