#momathon2 How would you inculcate patriotism in Children??
I love my country because I know it has the second largest education system on this planet...
I love my country because it has the second largest standing army in the world....
As an adult I understand the meaning of our national anthem...
I know the purpose of every color in the Indian flag...
I know the great indian history and respect it to the core...
I know what my country has given me and what I owe...
But why and how would my son, who is 2 YO and; doesn't understand any of these things , love his country??
By making him realize that its not just a country but a family, to which we all owe something!!!
What do we do for our family and it's welfare?
1. Helping each other!!
Help the needy, infact help everyone in every way. We are a family.
2. Keeping it clean!! Volunteer the cleaning of residential or school premises. The way we keep our house clean, follow the same rules outside of the house too. After all it's our home altogether.
3. Being friends with everyone!!
Take a long walk and make friends forever irrespective of their background, linguistic and cultural difference. That's what 'unity in diversity' means!!
4. Practicing democracy!!
In the democracy we have freedom of everything. Children see and learn. So give them a little freedom, so that they learn to value it.;
Raising a child who is sensitive towards the society which he lives in, would help him to understand the actual meaning of patriotism because patriotism is all about; giving your country back all the respect, freedom and liberty that it gives you!!!
