Mommies, does your baby suffer from cold and cough? Please read,
In picture, is this wonderful thing called "Panam Kalkandam". It is equivalent to Khadi Shakhar or Rock Candy, but is extracted from the flower of Palmera tree. It is sweet, but is high in nutrients with vitamins, minerals, zinc, potassium, calcium and iron and has low glycemic. It is also beneficial in lowering cholestrol.
It is used in ayurveda for treatment of cough and cold, it can liquefy phlegm and prevent cough and cold. It can be used for adults as well as babies.
I add this to sweeten my baby's porridges and malts everyday, and touch wood, he has been immune to cough and cold from when I started using it.
For adults and older children, you can make turmeric milk and add a dash of ginger and panam kalkandam for relief.
Use only for children above 6 months of age. It may be available in ayurveda pharmacies such as Oushadhi, Kottakal Arya Vaidyashaala, Vaidyaratnam etc.
Please do check for allergic reaction before regular use, first try yourself, then give baby little amount first. #ayurvedicremedies
