#MommyTakeOver

My water broke at 7.30 in morning, I reached Hospital by 9.00. I had already informed my doctor, so everybody was waiting for me to arrive .On arrival everything was checked and I was told that as baby has still not down come down, I will need C-Section. I was shocked, because throughout me and my doctor were on same page that we will try for natural delivery at all cost. Not even once during my entire pregnancy, I was told that I may need C- Section.
So, just after two hours of water breakage and no other complication, I did not want to go for C-Sec. I started crying and was not mentally prepared. My husband spoke to doctor and we decided to get induced and wait for pain to start.
Pain did not happen, I had to go for C-Section, the same evening on doctors’ advice. I was taken to Operation theatre, It was soo cold there and I was shivering. My Husband was sitting next to me, holding my hands in full tension.

While family waited out, I delivered healthy BABY BOY!! Wow.. The best feeling in world. I saw two hand and two legs. I had happy tears in my eyes. While doctors checked the baby, my husband gave me thumbs up signal and I passed out.

Pain and breastfeeding issues started, but everything was fine and I was discharged after -4- Days. Once I was back home, I pstarted getting Fever and Chills. I was feeling Weak. Everybody including me thought, its normal after C-Section. But another couple of days passed, I started getting even higher degree of Fever. I almost fainted in pain one Day. My Husband, immediately took me to hospital, But I was told it’s OK and was just asked to increase the dosage of medicines prescribed.

Nothing helped, I went to hospital again after two days and requested them to admit , me as I was feeling horrible in Pain.

Doctors, Re-checked me and after tests, it was found that my C-Section sight was infected and it was infected so badly, that I needed immediate attention to stop it from spreading to other parts of my body. If not treated on time and it can be life threatening!
My world turned upside down. The cleaning of the wound gave me worst pain I ever had in my life. I shouted so bad that people outside the room could hear me. This was worse than delivery. My husband cried with me helplessly. He along with my mother in law took care of the baby.

I was admitted in hospital for 20 Days. Had an operations to remove the Infection and was popping almost 20 pills a day.

I was not allowed to hold the baby as it would put pressure on my wound and moreover I was being given medicines through IV and had needles and tubes all over my hands.

;

This was most traumatic and excruciating experience any new mother would have. I was discharged after 20 Days when the wound started to heal.

;

However, I still needed daily dressing for another 15 days for which I was required to visit hospital every day to get the wound cleaned and refresh the bandage. This process was done under local;anesthesia;given each day. Travelling every day to hospital leaving the baby behind and taking on such painful process kept me making weak day by day.

;

This was not the end, once the wound started to better, I was prepared for another round of surgery on 06, April 2017 to do the final cleaning and re- stitching of the wound and therefore was once again hospitalized for couple of days.

;

In between the pressures of handling the newborn baby, I underwent three surgeries and unbearable pain of needles, tubes, high dose medicines and various other medical;equipment's;/ processes to get over the grave infection which drained me and family mentally, physically and financially.
All this led to Loneliness, Trauma, Sadness Depression..
How, I overcame this phase? Stay Tuned..
