#Journey -part 3
When baby was around 27-28 days old we took him to the opthalmologist. She is one of the best person I have come through. She explained us that baby needs to go through surgery. He was given anesthesia and his right eye was operated on 1st march'17 and the left one on 3rd April. It was not easy to see baby in pain. He used to cry the whole night. He was not able to feed properly. And we felt so helpless. But we had no choice. After surgery drops were to b given every 2 hours. Baby would not be able to sleep properly due to this. Patches on eyes are still to b put. He suffered a lot but yes he came of this and is able to see everything now. And that's the reward he gave us for being with him.

We took him to the cardiologist every month for the heart checkup. Echo was performed. The PDA didn't get closed by itself. Now the main issue was weight gain. Baby was not gaining weight at all. Gaining weight was very important for the surgery else there were chances of several complications. Breastfeeding didn't help much and had to start formula too in which supplements for weight gain was added. It took 7 months for him to be of 5 kgs and then surgery was planned on 19th September. This time he was just given medicine for deep sleep. And surgery was performed. After surgery he was in observation. When we saw him he was in sleep with oxygen mask and equipments around. He started crying after being conscious. And was cranky till night. But the best part was he slept well and felt better next morning. He was discharged happily the next day itself. This time everything went smooth without much trouble and once again my warrior came out with all the flying colours. Before each surgery his feeds were stopped for around 7-8 hours and handling a hungry baby was obviously tough. Thankfully he's out of everything now.

I feel he's a blessed one. Torch infections lead to miscarriages, still birth and so many defects but he survived all and came out of everything.

So moms to be and all the moms, whenever you come through any difficult situation just remember there's always bright light after a dark night. Just keep faith and be the strength of your child. A mother can sense everything and has to power to change every tough situation to a easier one. Always listen to what your heart says and keep rocking!!
