The one skill i inherited from my mom and practised well for many years was needlework. She used to be fond of cross stitch (would embroider bed covers!), crochet, knitting and stitching. As kids, we had needlework for 3 yrs in school and 3 years in clothing and textiles where i got to learn the whole deal - indian embridery from all states!
About six months back took a sabby, and i promised myself i would spend more time with #thenineyearold .
Project needlework was chalked out (in my mind) for the summer hols at my parents' home in Anand.
Y'day i went to the old embroidery shop i used to visit when i was in 5th std and brought home lots of goodies. My childoo goes to 5th std now. Full circle.
Yes, this is her doing chain stitch.
ps: I am doing the same thing on a different piece of cloth to give her company. And to re-discover my lost love :)

since I am on my sixth month maternity. I plan to get back to writing. I wanted to make this scrap book for my baby in which I will write about our journey growing up and add as many pictures as I can to it. making and saving memories is the project!

this is sooo good asha, to teach childoo something creative. nowadays its so sad to see kids glued to tabs whole day... hope many moms find inspiration from this...
