my 5 month old daughter doesn't play with toys at all. she gets aggressive when I place it in front of her and starts crying as well. in fact I had to change her bedding from colourful printed ones to plain color .

Don't worry. Some times a baby can take time to adapt to certain things. She may also have a preference for more solid and neutral shades.

Sometimes kids do take time. At 5 months they are still trying to understand their environment. My daughter too used to get scared of soft toys and moving musical toys. They take time. Don't worry introduce rattles or may be picture books to them. That may work
