question
My 5.5 year old son: Mumma, I don't want to get married to a girl, I want to get married to a boy.
Me (doing a double take): Er....why babu?
Son: I don't like girls.
Me (breathless, woozy, gasping. Positively panicking now): But, but....what's wrong with girls...am I not a girl?
Son (chuckling): You're different mumma. But ya....I guess I'll have to marry a girl when I grow up coz I haven't seen any boy-boy marriages.
Me: Almost fainting with relief
I don't know what will happen in the future and I want to be all liberal and progressive and everything but this one knocked the wind out of my lungs!
What pearls have your kiddos said mums?

My girl doesn't want to get married because she doesn't want to leave Mom. I agree with @616d0591b34e550013eb9a72 the future is so uncertain, by the time they grow up the world will be very different. My girls pearls of wisdom "we shouldn't cut trees it will destroy our earth".

Haha! Preeti as long as the boys marry girls I am fine. Being progressive also has limits.
My little fellow looked at my necklace one day and said it looks beautiful and I have to remember to give it to his wife!
