Allow in some cases and restrict in others. A baby uses his mouth extensively to explore the world around him. A baby is always curious to know about things around him and relies extensively on mouth initially than sight or touch. It is very important to let him explore...make sure you give him safe and hygienic things to put in his mouth. That said, use your discretion as to how often you want him to put things in his mouth.
