My Baby delivered on March 17th. For two days he was unable to suck milk, after two days Breastfeeding counsellor suggested to use nipple shield, finally on day 3, my Baby is able to breastfeeding while using nipple shields. I am just wondering, is there any way to increase the size of nipoles, so that would be able to feed directly?

Hi Aysha many congratulations to you, dear nipple size or breast size doesn't matter in breastfeeding, what matters is the way you give. Understand that babies doesn't suck the nipple alone but the entire areola. Sorry to say but nipple shield is not the correct choice, please stop using it. Baby will never get use to your breast , and long term no one can use nipple shields. So start offering your entire aerola to the baby, slowly baby will learn. Until then pump your milk and feed with spoon n bowl.
