question
My baby has been arching his back and throws up legs,  also wakes up crying and coughs during feeding but hasn't been spitting up milk frequently (only very little and that too once in two days) and hasn't been crying lots but shows signs of discomfort every now and then.  I was reading up about,  the symptoms are similar to colic or reflux but he seems fine over all. He doesn't cry as much and plays as well in the evenings and looks happy. Do I need to still have a doctor check him for colic or reflux?

hi sumira. if in general ur baby is ok then u should try treating the gas with some home remedies. like massaging his stomach hing water on the navel. colic is when the baby cries for almost 8 hours a day and inconsolable. I am amazed how loosely this word is used these days. so don't worry I am sure ur baby is just fine. thoda bahut gas to hota hi rehta Hai. but if he starts spitting up profusely and doesn't seem to take feeds properly then u should consult the doctor for reflux.

colic n reflux may settle down over time. continue taking care as u are. its not necessary tht baby will burp after every feed. u shud hold up baby anyways.
