The best thing is Steam before sleeping. Use dry face tissue paper for running nose to clean. Just keep it near nose to soak and later throw that paper. Add few drops of Nilgiri oil to nearby pillow for easy breathing. Ask your doctor for some other substitute of medicine. It's always risky to give medicine without being prescribed by doctor. Don't worry... cough and cold are common among kids. Their immune system is strengthening.
