question
My baby is 3 weeks old. I have got nipple infection because my baby has chewed both the nipples. It pains a lot when I feed him. I am now expressing BM and giving him. My concern is he is not gaining weight. He has lost around 400gm from that of his birth weight and hasn't since gained any weight. I am really worried about it. Please help

Its normal for neonate to loose weight since they r fighting to adjust with a new world. But regarding ur nipple u should continue to breastfeed allow baby's saliva to cure your nipple. It happen the same for me but it gets cure within few days n nipple is coming out nicely now.

Babies loose weight initially after birth and start gaining again after couple of weeks.. don't owrry.. if Ur baby is taking feed properly and pee count is fine and active then nothing to worry.. regarding Ur nipple infection best is to apply Breastmilk only..
