My baby is 3.5 months old and weighs 5.5 kg , she is exclusively breast fed , doctor suggested to include formula milk along with Breastfeeding to help her put on weight, is it really required to include formula milk ? She drinking enough milk once in 5 hrs and has started sucking her fingers

Hi Radha it's not at all required, babies will double the birth weight by 6 months and triple by 1 year. Exclusively breastfeed the baby till 6 months. I also suggest that you consult a breastfeeding friendly doctor and not someone who is at the back of baby's weight. Your milk is sufficient.
