In the womb the baby tends to sleep when the mother is active and once the mother is resting the baby awakens. You may remember that you would feel maximum kicks at night. Hence this cycle continues even post birth. A baby who is over tired will tend to awaken more often in the night. Try instead to keep his day time environment noisy and bright which will encourage him to be more wakeful and sleep shorter stretches and at night keep things dark and quiet. Slowly he will learn the difference between night and day.

try to keep him busy in the late evening so he doesnt nap before actual bedtime. he's still very young and routine will fluctuate. keep trying and best is to start a night routine of feed and bathe before sleep.

Try to feed him by 10 or 11pm. Thats is what i am doing to make my kid sleep continuously for 4-5 hrs max. Most of the kid will sleep if his/her tummy is full..
