My baby is 8 days old...she has been diagnosed physiological jaundice with total bilirubin 11.9 and indirect bilirubin 10.82...pls help what is the treatment

hey minaxi physiological jaundice is common in new borns.. dnt panic... it will b cured just follow your doc. my son too had this and his level too was almost the same as your baby has.. he was cured within 3 days... so dnt worry... further expose to child to morning sunlight... it's helpful.

It is normal. This is called physiological jaundice. The baby's liver is getting ready to take over the task of removing excess bilirubin which so far the moms liver was doing. Feeding frequently means more urination and this will help wash the bilirubin out faster. Also exposing the baby's skin to morning sunlight for about fifteen to twenty minutes will also help in the elimination of bilirubin.

after my birth of my kidoo he also diagnosed with jaundice he was treated with phototherapy (tat is kept under light covered by baby eyes with eye mask) ..for two days so check with doctor once again feed u r baby in reqular intervals of breast feed tat gives immunity dear..
