My baby is not latching onto my flat nipples so I; used nipple shield but it was not of much help .So I started expressing breast milk by electric breast pump . How should I increase the size of nipples so that my baby is able to get direct feed from the breasts .

Using the breast pump will help to extract the nipples. However keep two things in mind - expressed breast milk should not be fed with a bottle. Use vati and spoon for feeding the baby. And second keep trying to latch the baby on so that baby learns how to feed at the breast as well. You should ask a lactation specialist to guide you with latching a baby direct without the use of a shield if possible.

No I got discharged 2 days back. Did use syringe but she is unsuccessfully trying to latch and; crying on not being able to latch and get milk that way .

Hiii.. Try without nipple shields, slowly slowly baby will be start latching milk in flat nipples also... I <u>have</u> the same problem but now my baby start latching milk without nipple shield
