My baby is on mixed feed...formula as well as breast feed..but she doesn't latch properly..gets irritated. I am planning to pump my milk for her. does pumping decrease the milk in long term? I really want to give my milk to my baby as she was born with low birth weight(2kg50gm). she is 4.1kg now.

ur supply will go up if the demand is high. babies prrer bottle for the sinple reason that the milk flow is faster and easier. in bm there is effort. ditch the bottle and go all day only on bm.

ok first if ur baby cries after taking feed, its not always cause she is hungry so no need of bottles. get up burp the baby. change side. try and feed again. babies need skin to skin contact - which bottle can never provide. ensure that the aerola goes all the way inside the mouth, and look at the chin. if chin is moving, it means baby is sucking.

she told me that baby is latching perfectly..as I was trained by my mom how to latch her...I make sure that nipple is completely in with an extra inch...she sucks ...I take care of gulp sound...keep one finger at her back neck to feel that engulf..when she stops sucking sometimes I found I m empty sometimes I get milk drops but she don't suck

yes I did...she was giving me big electronic pump and asked me to take it on rent for 2.5k for 15 days. I really got very disappointed as my mom told baby sucking will produce more milk than pumping.
