My baby's Bilbrubin level was 15 when he was 4 days old, but now his at 3 weeks, his Bilbrubin has increased to 18. We are getting him hospitalised. Please help why this has increased instead of reducing. We are worried.

Aditi, nobody can say clearly on the reason of increasing bilirubin. I fed my baby 24×7 and still her level got increased to 23 post 4 da6s of discharge. Even after giving her sun bath ever6day for 1 hour,it dint reduce. It's a jaundice bell curve which peaks at 20th day and then start to decrease. Don't kill yourself thinking that you are not feeding properly. Get the baby admitted, they will give phototherapy which will help control the level and the baby will be fine. Believe me..I had been at that stage. So just relax, keep pumping to keep your milk supply at pace and give it to the nurses to feed your baby. Your baby will be absolutely fine. All the best and blessings your way!💐

Feeding is main issue..mostly it happens because of that..usually early mng sunlight people give to reduce the levels..but now since its already 18..no need to worry..they will give phototherapy .baby will be fine..relax

Hi Aditi. Increase in bilirubin s due to improper feed as told by pediatrician. I hope he is taking proper feed and his pee count is good. Don't worry in hospital they will give phototherapy and Ur baby will be fine.
