Hi Anon. I think finding a lifelong partner is a very big and personal step. She is lucky to have a friend like you. I would suggest you try to remove and make her understand that the past has nothing to do with present. Once that is fixed i think your friend will be in a better frame of mind. All the best

The best thing to do is take your friend out to meet an extended group of friends with you in social, no pressure settings.. People find love in friends of friends very often.  That said , if she s had a bitter experience then perhaps she needs time to recover from it.. You are a good friend but broken hearts have their own time frame for recovery.
