“Her body is ready, so she can get admitted tonight to have an induction tomorrow!” said my gynecologist to my mother, while I sat there in numbness thinking to myself- ‘This is it, its happening, you are going to see the baby tomorrow’. So without any delay I called my husband (because he was working in Delhi and I was in Agra for my delivery) and asked him to pack his bags. Meanwhile I had to deal with this funny emotion which I like to call happiexty (happiness+ anxiety). I was admitted to the hospital and was taken to the labour room the next morning for my induction (not a pleasant feeling though) and within minutes I started with my labour (I did not anticipate the intensity of pain I was going to experience). With every internal checkup the pains were just intensifying. But (yes off course there is a ‘but’) I think the almighty and my mighty bundle inside me had different plans. I was in labour for almost 30hrs (I ain’t no kidding) and my baby did not move an inch. Yes you heard it right 30hrs of excruciating pain and the bub was with a posterior head and had no plans of moving down easily. So, the doctors decided they would want to go ahead with a C-section. Within seconds I was barely conscious and I could feel tugging and pulling at my tummy. Becoming conscious and then again fainting. I did hear the crying of my bub when the doctors pulled her out of my womb. It’s a Girl they said. Ah, a tear of happiness rolled down my cheek as the nurse brought my peachy bundle of joy for the first mothers touch. She was finally here in my arms and yes the feeling of overwhelming joy and being blessed to be a mother is something no woman can put into words. Did you have an induction of labour? How did you get on? I am anxious to know your birthing story. Until next time.

It’s so nice to know that all of us have something in common. And of course being mothers is a big one ..I absolutely loved reading your experiences.

Haha.. almost similar story. In the starting of my 9th mnth I started eagerly waiting for my labour or any other signal that my baby wants to cm out, but my due date arrived. Doctor told me to get admit and they induced pain for almost 12hrs. But my pain had not started and my munchkin’s heart beat started increasing then they decided to do a C-Sec.
