question
My daughter has completed 8 months yesterday. Today I went for her regular check up. Her paed is saying that her weight is less, it's 6.86kg So I should give her cerelac. According to him it should be around 7.5kg now. What should I feed her to gain her weight? She is so much active and completing all milestones. Is her weight really a matter of concern? I'm confused. Pls advise.

Sukhada my daughter who is 11 months is 6.8 kgs. The doctor I previously consulted was at the back of me to increase her weight, he suggested to add sugar, ice cream, chocolate, ladoo etc in her diet. I felt like a failure mom but I know my daughter is absolutely fine. So only last month I changed her paediatrician ( currently seeing Jack&Jill hospital). This doctor asked me to stop worrying, weight gain is genetic (how you and your husband were till 20 yrs). Weight will increase anytime, My Baby is active and achieving milestone on time. For past 2 months I'm relaxed and I concentrate on giving her healthy and balanced diet, 8 don't force or distract feed her. Banana, eggs, Avocado, ghee, chicken etc are good options. Don't worry about the weight part if the baby is active and achieving milestones. If possible change your doctor.
