applying coconut oil to the hair before bathing is fine. However; refrain from doing the things which she is suggesting you and replace her asap as everyone suggested.
Here is a list from my learning and doctor's suggestions:
1) avoid pressing of nipple area around chest
2) exclusive breastmilk or formula feed only till first 6 months
3) avoid putting oil in the ear
4) avoid applying kajal in the eyes
5) avoid rigorous exercising of baby's hands and legs
6) avoid giving honey to the baby

N wat about putting oil in frontal part of skull ( in marathi they say tadu bharna) ..is that ok?
